What we collect

Analytics (production only)

On the live site we useUmami Cloud, a privacy-focused analytics service. Umami is cookieless for visitors: it does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. It records aggregated data such as:

Umami does not collect names, email addresses, or payment details on this site. We do not sell analytics data. The tracker is not loaded during local development builds. Collect requests are sent tocloud.umami.is as described in ourcookie and storage policy.

For how Umami processes data as a processor, seeUmami’s privacy policy.

What we do not collect on this site

Why we use analytics

We use Umami to understand which documentation pages are useful, whether navigation is working, and how much traffic the site receives. The lawful basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interest in operating and improving a public documentation site, balanced against minimal collection and no profiling for advertising.

Storage on your device

Browser storage used by this site (theme preference and similar) is explained on the cookie and storage policy page. That is separate from Umami analytics.

Third parties

Fonts used on this site are self-hosted; page views do not trigger third-party font requests.

Retention

Analytics retention is controlled in Umami Cloud (typically months, not years). Hosting logs depend on the provider. If you contact us about accessibility or other site issues, we keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request.

Your rights

If UK or EEA data protection law applies to you, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK) or your local supervisory authority. Because Umami does not identify you by name on this site, we may not be able to isolate a single visit as “your” record without additional information you provide voluntarily.

To exercise rights or ask questions, contactCrayons and Code.

Changes

We may update this policy when the site or analytics setup changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
